Mini Tennis Singles - May 2012

Our two LTA qualified coaches, Martyn Lappass and Caroline Jordan, are running singles competitions for mini tennis players on 3 Sundays in May:

The entry fee is £5 Members (£6 non-members)

Note that any child MAY ONLY ENTER ONE AGE GROUP

Mini Tennis

Welcome to Mini Tennis at Sheen. Sheen LTC is a Lawn Tennis Association accredited Mini Tennis Centre.
From 3 years old onwards, whatever your child's age or standard, there is a course available with our qualified, licensed Tennis Coaches.
Mini Tennis is designed to make the game of Tennis easier and more accessible for your child. Aimed at children under 10, Mini Tennis provides three stages for juniors to progress through using various court sizes and ball speeds to suit a child’s age and ability.
RED (8 & under)
Court size is 12 x 6 meters. These sessions aim to develop basic technical and rallying skills, leading to competitive play. An integral part of the sessions involve co-ordination, balance and ball skills.
Orange (9 & Under)
Court size is 18 x 8 meters (3 meters short of a singles court). The aim of these sessions is to prepare children for full court Tennis. All the shots will be taught as well as basic tactical skills for match play.
GREEN (10 & Under)
Court size is normal singles court. The only difference here is the use of a slightly slower ball.

Pre School Tennis “Little Hitters”

Pre school tennis is intended to provide the first introduction to tennis for 4 to 5 year olds and prepares the children for the first Red sessions of Mini Tennis.

Little Hitters is a great introduction to tennis. The class is led by  our resident tennis Pro Caroline Jordan.

Little Hitters is structured to improve co-ordination, dexterity and confidence.

Caroline's weekly sessions take place on

Tuesdays from 1:45 till 2:30 pm

No rackets are needed as these are provided by the club.

Squad Sessions

These are aimed at more advanced players who are interested in playing Tennis at a competitive level. The groups are generally by invitation only.

 

All our courses run during the school term times and are usually 12 weeks in duration. During the holidays we also run weekly tennis camps.

 

Courses run for 12 weeks and cost £72 (members) £84 (n/members) for 1 hour courses, £108/£126 for 1 ½ hour Courses & £48 for ½ hour Courses
